Plumbing fun
Last night, as I was giving Levi a bath, the hot water valve on the tub decided to break, and I couldn’t turn it off. I finally got it down to a slow drip, but it obviously needed some fixing.
To add insult to injury, the were no disconnect valves running to the tub. There’s a nice little door to give you access to the pipes behind the tub, but no valves. I’m speachless.
Since I’ve been wanting to replace the tub fixture, this meant replacing the whole thing sounded wise.
In addition, we have been wanting to get a new water heater. The old one has no popoff valve, no corrosion rod, single wall exhaust pipe, and just didn’t seem to hold enough water.
Hey, while the water is off, might as well get it all done, right?
So, Aaron came over with a pipe wrench, and we installed a new 40 gallon tank and stop valves. I still have to find a new fixture for the tub, but at least there is a nice valve now shutting off the water flow.
