Upgrading the server
I thought I’d make a quick upgrade to my subversion server today. As a seasoned sysadmin, you’d think I would know “quick” and “upgrade” don’t belong in the same sentence.
I didn’t realize that Apache 2.2.0 had been released. I just browsed to my usual Suse projects page to pick up the latest apache, php, subversion, etc… and ended up with a mess that didn’t work.
Well, it almost worked, except SCGI went buggy. Turns out there’s anew libapr out, which changed some of the API calls. There should be a new SCGI out soon to fix it, as I’m running the patch. Thanks to Neil Schemenauer for getting me working again!

Methinks Apache 2 and “mess that didn’t work” belongs in the same sentence?

Thing is, it really should work… but I’m trying to do it all with rpms, rather than simpley by hand.
